REGION

The wine region of Lisbon is the one that presents a complexity more pronounced regardless of the character to be considered.

From the geological aspect with representation of all ages in assessing climate considering the transition zone between the wet and permanent winds from the West and the dry summers. The type of vegetation in the northern part approaches a kind of central Europe, while at the south end already has Mediterranean characteristics.

The vine, though with a great ability to adapt to various soil types found in the diversity of the region expressed a preference for some of these, including the calcareous brown or red or parabarros marls and fine sandstones, brown Mediterranean soils or normal red and yet the lithic soil not humic, these represented the northernmost part of the region.
